What it is
STANAG 4700 is the NATO agreement on energetic materials that specifies GUDN (guanylurea dinitramide). It covers the publication AOP-4700, edition A. Edition 1 was promulgated on 29 November 2016 under NATO's CNAD, AC/326 CASG, SG/A, EMT committee. NATO has not released STANAG 4700 publicly, so this page describes it from a public national source: the entry for the Czech defence standard that implements it, in the Czech national defence standards index.
What the Czech implementation covers
That Czech standard, ČOS 137610, implements STANAG 4700 together with the related STANAG 4719 (TEGDN, triethyleneglycol dinitrate), under a Czech title naming raw materials for the production of military explosives, part VI, covering guanylurea dinitramide and triethyleneglycol dinitrate. The index entry's description states that the standard sets out qualitative requirements for the explosives guanylurea dinitramide and triethyleneglycol dinitrate, intended for deliveries between NATO member states, and gives unified test methods for evaluating their quality.
Where it is cited
Two public NATO documents on energetic materials, AOP-4682 and STANAG 4682, name STANAG 4700 Ed. 1 in lists of specifications, next to STANAG 4719 for TEGDN and to specifications for other explosives such as NTO and CL-20.
