Some teams have a standard put in front of them with no quality function to build it. Our consultants take you from a standing start to audit-ready - gap analysis, building the system, generating the evidence - and hand you a live QMS on the platform, whatever standard you answer to.
When full-service makes sense
Not every organisation has a quality manager, or the time to become one. If a customer, a tender or a regulator has put a standard in front of you and the clock is running, building the whole system yourself is not always the fastest or the safest route. That is what our consulting is for.
What we do
We work alongside your team, not instead of it. A consultant runs the gap analysis, helps write and agree the procedures, sets up document control, and makes sure the internal audit and management review actually happen - so the evidence an auditor asks for is generated as you work. When the certification audit comes, you are showing what you already run, not assembling it the week before.
And because the system is built on ComplyTrain from day one, you are not left with a binder and a consultant’s departure. You keep a live QMS - the documents, the requirements, the records - that your team owns and runs after we step back, whatever standard it is built around.
Who this is for
Three starting points, and we see all three:
- No quality function at all. A customer or a tender has put a standard in front of you, and the job has landed on somebody who already has a full-time role.
- A system that exists on paper. Procedures were written once, for a certificate, and the way people actually work drifted away from them years ago.
- A certificate you now have to keep. The first audit is passed, the surveillance audits keep arriving, and nobody owns the system in between.
What we do not do
We do not issue your certificate, and neither does any other consultant. That comes from an accredited certification body, and the separation is the point: nobody may audit the system they built.
We also say so when a project is not what you need. Plenty of teams need the platform and a fortnight of their own attention, not an engagement, and the scoping call is where that gets said rather than after an invoice.

The standards we take teams through
Most engagements are one of these, or two of them at once, because a supplier is rarely asked for only one:
- ISO 9001 - the quality baseline nearly every tender assumes before a conversation starts.
- ISO 27001 - information security, increasingly a condition of the contract rather than a differentiator.
- The AQAP family - NATO's quality assurance publications, where a defence contract sets the requirement.
- AS9100 and EN 9100 - the aerospace quality standard, and the route into AQAP 2310.
- The STANAG series - interoperability and airworthiness, usually flowed down by a prime.
If the standard binding you is not on that list, say so on the scoping call. The platform is built around a requirement tree and one can be built for any standard that has requirements in it. Whether we have consultants who know your particular standard is a different question, and we will answer it straight rather than take the work and learn on your deadline.
In the language the work happens in
We deliver consultancy in Danish, English, French, German, Polish and Ukrainian.
That matters more than it sounds. A quality system written in a language your people do not work in is a system they will not follow, and an auditor who asks an operator to explain a procedure finds that out in about a minute. We build it in the language of the people who have to use it, and the platform runs in nine languages as well, so the procedures, the training records and the evidence stay in that language long after we have gone.
Questions we are asked before a first call
What does an engagement cost?
It depends on the standard, where you are starting and how much your own team takes on. We scope it first and then quote a fixed price for that scope, rather than an open hourly rate, so the number does not move once work begins. We do not publish a price list because the same standard is a very different job for a ten-person supplier than for a two-hundred-person one, and a list would mislead one of them.
How long does it take?
The part almost everyone underestimates is not the writing. It is that the standard requires the system to have been running: internal audits carried out, findings raised and closed, a management review held. That takes calendar time you cannot compress by working harder. We give you a realistic date after the gap assessment, not before it.
Do we have to buy ComplyTrain to work with you?
The engagements are built on it, and that is deliberate: it is what leaves you with a live system your team owns rather than a folder that ages. If you already run a quality system you intend to keep, say so at the scoping call and we will tell you honestly whether a project with us still makes sense.
Who actually does the work?
Skylen consultants and a small group of named associates we work with regularly, alongside your team rather than instead of it. You know who is on your engagement before it starts. That matters beyond introductions: the people who know how the work really happens are the ones who have to run the system after we leave, so they are in the room while it is built.
Is Skylen itself certified to the standards you advise on?
Not yet. Skylen is working towards ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certification, and we would rather say that plainly than imply otherwise. Our consultants have taken organisations through certification; the company holding its own certificate is a separate thing, and it is in progress.
Can you do just the gap assessment?
Yes, and it is the most common way to begin. It is fixed in scope and it ends with a prioritised plan that is yours. Plenty of teams take that plan and do the work themselves, which is a perfectly good outcome and one we would rather have than a project nobody needed.
