STANAG 5602 SIMPLE tactical data link interface
Integrators of tactical data link (Link 11, Link 16) equipment and modelling-and-simulation systems, and the programmes that specify them.
STANAG 5602, known as SIMPLE, is a NATO interface standard that AMSP-01 describes as widely implemented in tactical data link equipment and often used to exchange Link 11 and Link 16 simulation data. NATO has not released it publicly.

NATO has not released this STANAG publicly. It is NATO UNCLASSIFIED, and organisations that need it obtain it through their national standardization authority.
What it is
STANAG 5602 is the NATO Standardization Agreement on a standard interface for multiple-platform link evaluation, known by the short name SIMPLE. Edition 4, promulgated on 2 October 2014 under NATO's DPC, DPC, CaP1, TDL CaT, covers the publication ATDLP-6.02 edition A. NATO has not released STANAG 5602 publicly, so this page describes it from AMSP-01, a NATO publication that discusses modelling-and-simulation interoperability standards and cites it.
AMSP-01 says SIMPLE "is not M&S-specific but is often used to exchange Link 11 Simulation and Link 16 Simulation data in M&S applications", and that it "is also relevant in LVC simulations since the standard is widely implemented in operational tactical data link equipment". AMSP-01 also lists two SISO simulation standards that have no STANAG of their own but are described as consistent with and in support of STANAG 5602: a draft Link 11/11B simulation standard (SISO-STD-005-202x), and a Link 16 simulation standard (SISO-STD-002-2006), for which AMSP-01 names STANAG 5602 edition 1. The abstract AMSP-01 gives for the Link 16 standard says it incorporates Link 16 message exchange into DIS or HLA simulation networks "thus eliminating the need for additional transport protocols (e. g. SIMPLE)", so the publication names SIMPLE as an example of a transport protocol for that message exchange.
