NATO has not released this STANAG publicly. It is NATO UNCLASSIFIED, and organisations that need it obtain it through their national standardization authority.
What it is
STANAG 2632, Deployed Force Infrastructure, is the NATO agreement that covers the publication ATP-3.12.1.4, Deployed Force Infrastructure. Edition 2 was promulgated on 27 June 2023 under MC, MCLSB, MILENG, IMP. NATO has not released STANAG 2632 publicly, so this page describes it from public NATO publications that cite it: AJEPP-2 and AJMedP-1.
Where it is cited
AJEPP-2 requires that the infrastructure plan for an operation consider the deployed force infrastructure (DFI) generic organisation, encompassing services and accommodation, as detailed in STANAG 2632 (ATP-3.12.1.4). It states that DFI is comprised of "the buildings, facilities and installations required to support military forces when deployed." In its footnotes, AJEPP-2 records that in STANAG 2632, services "include force protection, fire protection, communication and information systems, power generation, water supply, waste management, environmental protection, climate control, and road network and associated infrastructure", and accommodation "includes messing, recreation, sanitation, working, living, logistics, medical and training facilities."
AJEPP-2 also relates the stages of an operation - initial, interim and sustainment - to Tiers 1, 2 and 3 of the minimum military requirements of DFI, pointing to ATP-3.12.1.4 for the details. "Tier 1 support is what the first personnel deploying on an operation can carry on their person or in their support vehicles." It normally lasts for several weeks.
AJMedP-1 notes that "Infrastructure requirements for deployed forces are normally a national responsibility; however, there may be some areas for multinational infrastructure solutions." It adds that ATP-3.12.1.4 provides some medical planning considerations.
