NATO has not released this STANAG publicly. It is NATO UNCLASSIFIED, and organisations that need it obtain it through their national standardization authority.
What it is
STANAG 2920 is the NATO Standardization Agreement on the classification of personal armour. Edition 3 was promulgated in June 2015 under CNAD, AC/225 NAAG, LCGDSS, and it covers AEP-2920 edition A. NATO has not released STANAG 2920 publicly, so this page describes it from the Czech defence standard that implements it and a NATO publication that cites it.
What the Czech implementation covers
The Czech defence standard ČOS 130027, on the ballistic resistance of personal protective equipment against fragment threats by a modified method, implements STANAG 2920 edition 3 and AEP-2920(A). Its Czech index entry describes a uniform procedure for determining and classifying the ballistic resistance of personal protective equipment against fragment threats to people, using fragment-simulating projectiles (FSP).
Where it is cited
AEP-2902, NATO's publication on the non-ballistic performance of combat helmets, lists it among its normative references as "STANAG 2920 Edition 3 - Procedures for the Evaluation and Classification of Personal Armour - Bullet and Fragmentation Threats." It places ballistic test standards and methods, Behind Helmet Blunt Trauma (BHBT) test standards and methods, and Back Face Deformation (BFD) test standards and methods outside its own non-ballistic scope, as requirements "included in STANAG 2920 Edition 3". Elsewhere it states that "Ballistic performance, including associated testing of bullets and fragments are detailed in STANAG 2920 Classification of Personal Armour Systems" and that "Hostile threats are dealt with in STANAG 2920."
