NATO has not released this STANAG publicly. It is NATO UNCLASSIFIED, and organisations that need it obtain it through their national standardization authority.
What it is
STANAG 3149 is the NATO Standardization Agreement on minimum quality surveillance for fuels. Edition 11 was promulgated on 21 June 2023, sponsored by LC, OEC, NFLWG, and it covers the publication AFLP-3149 (edition A). NATO has not released STANAG 3149 publicly, so this page describes it from public NATO publications that cite it.
Where it is cited
AASSEP-10, in its requirements for aircraft-installed pressure oil-replenishment connections, states: "The filtration shall be to the standard stipulated in STANAG 3149." It also requires that "The dispenser shall be clearly marked with the NATO marking in accordance with STANAG 3149."
ALP-4.6.1, describing the capabilities of a bulk fuel installation unit, says it stores fuel grades with "positive segregation of fuel grades in accordance with the requirements for appropriate fuel quality control (STANAG 3149)". It also expects the unit to provide "POL testing, quality control and pollution prevention as defined in STANAG 4605 and STANAG 3149", POL being petroleum, oils and lubricants.
