What it is
STANAG 3842 is the NATO agreement on the rail launched missile/launcher mechanical interface. Edition 5 was promulgated on 13 May 2008, under CNAD, AC/224 NAFAG, ACG2, AASG. NATO has not released STANAG 3842 publicly, so this page describes it from the entry for its Czech implementing standard in the Czech defence standards index (oos-data.army.cz), not from NATO's own text.
What the Czech implementation covers
The Czech defence standards index lists ČOS 142001, on the dimensions of the mechanical connection between an air-launched guided missile and a rail-type launching device, as the standard implementing STANAG 3842 edition 5. The index describes ČOS 142001 as setting out the required dimensions that define the geometry of the launching device's suspension lug for that mechanical connection. The index entry does not give the dimensions themselves.
