What it is
STANAG 6009, NATO Emitter Database (NEDB) - SCORPIO, is sponsored by MC, MCJSB, NEWAC. Edition 5 was promulgated on 16 December 2025, and it covers the publication AEMP-05, edition A. NATO has not released STANAG 6009 publicly, so this page describes it from a public NATO publication that cites it.
What AEDP-02 says about the NEDB
AEDP-02, a public NATO publication, describes STANAG 6009 directly: "STANAG 6009 defines the NATO Emitter Database (NEDB) as the sole common NATO database for the exchange of parametric and related information on electromagnetic emitters. It also establishes the NATO Spot Number (NSN) system for verbally or electronically referring to and reporting emitters in NATO channels."
AEP-4845, in its list of the ISR products defined in STANAG 4559, names "NEDB/EOB (STANAG 6009)" under CESMO, alongside ESM (STANAG 5516).
